Overview
On August 05, 2016, House Bill 19-114, entitled: "To transfer the Administration of the Government's Group Health and Life Insurance Programs to the Department of Finance", which was passed by the House of Representatives and the Senate of the 19th Northern Marianas Commonwealth legislature, was signed in to Public Law No. 19-60.
The NMI Retirement fund and Group Health and Life Insurance Program was moved the administration at the time from the Northern Mariana Islands Settlement Fund to the Department of Finance so that it can be operated more efficiently.
